BOTW: Holly Vane - The Devil's Bible

Well, I'm 4 days late :) but if you like supernatural, vampires and love, you will forgive me...I hope.
The book is divided into four parts, each one presents parts of the action through someone's eyes.

There are three brothers Alex, Angel and Rain who were turned into vampires when they were little. The man who turned them never finished his job with Rain, so he is not human nor vampire - he's somewhere between, and the Council can't kill him, unless they have the Devil's Bible, a book thought to be written by Lucifer himself, containing the worst spells and the darkest magic. To protect their younger brother, Alex and Angel outlawed Rain, but everything went south when he met Faith. She was a hooker that Alex went for fun, but because she was very beautiful, he kept going to see her and she got pregnant at one point with him. Faith kept it a secret, but only for about five years, because he found out that Alice is his daughter, too. Not long after that, the girl died and because her mother suffered a lot, he turned her into a vampire, presenting her to his family and making her Angel's partner. But she had fell in love at first sight with Rain. From that point on, the action gets interesting. Infidelity is a deathly sin in the vampire world, so if the Council found out about her affair with Rain, she would be murdered. So the Elders negotiated with the brothers: they will leave her alone if they find the Devil's Book in two weeks, if not, they will start the war between vampires and humans. Wanting to avoid both evils, they started looking for the book and got in Wove, a small town. There they meet Sophie and her little sister, Ellie, who moved there after their mom lost the battle with cancer and were left with their alcoholic father. Sophie, Ellie, Angel, Faith, Sunny and Jack all went to the same school. When Sophie sees Angel, she fell in love and said to herself that she will do everything to be with him. She and the rest of the group got along very well and became friends. One day, while she was killing her free time until Ellie gets out from school, Sophie sees Faith and Rain kissing in the library and making plans to go at his place for some more ... fun, let's say. Seeing that and thinking that it's the perfect reason for Angel to break up with his girlfriend so she can go for him, Sophie makes a plan...and talk about it with Stace (not knowing that she is supposed to be Rain's girlfriend and part of the Council's plan to kill Faith because of her infidelities). There is a fight between Rain and Angel because of what happened in the library and Faith receives an ultimatum from her boyfriend - it's him or she dies. He leaves the house trying to relax and gets a call from Sophie. Knowing that she is in love with him, Angel accepts to meet with her, planing to feed with her blood. But when time comes and he bits her neck, he feels the poison that she ingested - a poison she drank because Faith gave her an cocktail earlier that day and because everyone suspected that Angel might go for her. The poison is harmless for the humans, but makes vampires feel very weak. Because Angel felt noxious he could drink her blood and Sophie called Jack to come and help her. He came with Alex and took them both home. Everybody was there and later on, Rain appeared too. After explaining Sophie everything, including the fact that her mother died because the Council wanted her to move with her father in Wove because they needed her to prove Faith's infidelities so that she can have Angel, the Elders made their entry holding Ellie as an hostage. Seeing what happens, Faith and Rain go outside to negotiate their freedom. But before she could say anything, Rain tells the Council that if they leave his family and loved ones alone and never shadow them, he will help them in whatever they want, he will become one of them. Because they know that he cannot be killed only by the dark magic from the Bible and it is, still, a myth, the agree. The story ends with Rains thoughts: "Two hundred years ago Faith broke my heart to save me, I just hope one day she’ll realize I’m doing the same…"

From my point of view, and not only, this story is a "Romeo and Juliet" mixed with "Twilight" ... and only at the end of the book, I could put everything in order, because each part is different, told by Sophie, Faith, Angel and Rain and neither of them know what is really happening until the very last moment.

If you like vampires and romance, you should read the book. And I hope you had the patience to read what I wrote. :) And I thank you for that. :*

B.O.T.W.: Monica Murphy - One week girlfriend / Iubita mea pentru o saptamana

Hello.
When I started reading this book, I thought that it will be something simple, nothing too complicated, something new...
Overall, the story is nice.
It's about a college boy/football player named Drew and a waitress named Fable. He has to go home for Thanksgiving for a whole week, to see his father and step-mom and go to the grave of his half-sister, who died a few years back. But things are not that simple with Drew and his step-mom. To make sure that she leaves him alone and his dad doesn't think that he is gay, he thinks that the perfect plan is to "hire" Fable as his girlfriend. For 3000 dollars, Fable says yes to his proposal; mostly because she has to take care of her brother, Owen, who's 13 and her mom, which is a drunk and spends all her money on booze and guys. Since the second they stepped on the family property, Adele, the step-mom, treated Fable like she is just a joke and a replacement of her. Yes, you read right. A replacement of her, because we find out later that she is one of the reasons Drew avoids his home. The boy is somehow a "copy" of Christian Grey, having his dark secrets, being used by an older woman, in this case, Adele. Later on, we find out what the problem is : he thinks that he is guilty for his sisters drowning. But also a few years back, Adele married Drew's dad and tried so hard to conceive. Unable to get pregnant, she seduced her Drew and got pregnant with him. And this is how, Vanessa, his little sister, is in fact his daughter. In this one week, Drew and Fable fell in love with each other and now they try to get over his dark past and move on.
Will they succeed? We'll find out next week, on part 2.


The book is worth reading just because Drew and Fable are such a lovely couple and every day nice things happen between the two of them...

Cand m-am apucat de citit aceasta carte, m-am gandit ca va fi ceva usor de citit, nimic prea complicat, ceva nou, diferit putin...
In principiu, povestea e frumoasa.

In carte e vorba despre un student/fotbalist pe nume Drew si de o chelnerita pe nume Fable. El trebuie sa mearga sa isi petreaca Ziua Recunostintei acasa, cu tatal lui si mama lui vitrega, Adele si sa viziteze mormantul surorii lui mai mici, Vanessa, care a murit acum 3 ani. Dar lucrurile intre el si mama lui vitrega sunt cam complicate. Asa ca se hotaraste sa o "angajeze" pe Fable sa fie iubita lui pentru o saptamana, cat trebuia sa stea acasa. Pentru ca primeste 3000 de dolari, Fable accepta, pentru ca ea e cea care are grija de fratele ei mai mic, Owen, care are doar 13 ani si de mama ei betiva, care isi cheltuie toti banii pe bautura si iubiti.
Din secunda in care au pasit pe proprietatea familiei, Adele se poarta cu Fable ca si cand ar fi ultimul gunoi de pe lume si ca nu e nimic altceva decat un inlocuitor al ei in viata fiului sau vitreg. Da, un inlocuitor al ei, ati citit bine. Asta pentru ca ea este unul din motivele pentru care Drew nu mai vine acasa. El este oarecum, o "copie" a lui Christian Grey, care a fost implicat in relatii cu o femeie mai in varsta, in acest caz, Adele. Mai incolo in carte aflam motivul real pentru care Drew evita casa: se simte vinovat pentru moartea surorii lui, pentru ca nu a stat cu ochii pe ea si a cazut in piscina. Dar si faptul ca Adele a profitat de inocenta lui si l-a folosit pentru a ramane insarcinata. Da, mai tarziu aflam ca Vanessa era, de fapt, fiica lui. Greu de acceptat pentru Drew, dar acesta era adevarul - adevar pe care il afla acum, la 5 ani de la nasterea ei si 3 de la moartea acesteia. Partea frumoasa a acestei povesti, este ca in aceasta saptamana, Drew si Fable s-au indragostit si acum incearca sa treaca peste trecutul urat si negru si sa isi continue relatia.
Vor putea face asta? O sa aflam saptamana viitoare.


Oricum, cartea merita citita pentru ca in fiecare zi, se intampla lucruri frumoase intre Drew si Fable, sunt o pereche atat de frumoasa...

This time I want to talk to you about Sandra Brown's book - Temptation's Kiss.
De data asta vreau sa va povestesc despre cartea Sandrei Brown - Sarutul ispitei.

 


It's the story of Megan, a young widow and a workaholic at a television station. On the day before her wedding, she and her fiancee at the time, had a party where James's boss was invited too. The attraction between Josh - her fiancee's boss and her was very intense. At one point, they were alone and kissed. And from that kiss on, everything went south in Megan's heart concerning her feelings for James. 
Josh was engaged at that time, but the day after Megan's wedding, he broke the engagement, telling Laura that he loves a married woman and he can't continue this relationship. He kept the distance from Megan, knowing that she hates him because of the kiss. Megan always blamed him for her husband's death, thinking that he was the one that made James work extra-hours and stress a lot - leading to his heart failure. But after three long years, Josh finds a way to get close to Megan; they are working on the same campaign for a big hotel - Seascape. He tells her that they will be a couple and he can be patient, because the time that she was married was the toughest, not now, that she is single.
After this not-so-small talk, they go for the big opening of the hotel, on a vacation and while she thought she will get her well deserved revenge...she falls back in love with him. The dates they have on the resort and everything, lead to his proposal. What she answered...well, there was no answer, to be honest. Only a big misunderstanding that got between them because they both are stubborn. 
It's a good read, because you can finish it in a day ( a few hours) and it's not erotic...it's a romantic story with some fireworks.

O avem pe Megan, o tanarar vaduva, o workaholic la un post de televiziune. In ziua de dinaintea nuntii ei cu James, au tinut o petrecere la care a fost invitat si Josh, seful logodnicului ei. Atractia dintrea ea si Josh a fost atat de puternica incat, la un moment dat, ramasi singuri, acestia se saruta. De la aceasta intamplare incolo, Megan isi pune la indoiala sentimentele pentru James.
In tot acest timp, si Josh era logodit, dar se desparte de Laura dupa nunta celor doi, marturisindu-i ca iubeste o femeie maritata si ca nu poate ramane langa ea daca nu ii poate impartasi sentimentul. S-a tinut la distanta de Megan cativa ani, pentru ca aceasta il considera vinovat pentru moartea sotului sau, crezand ca toata munca in afara programului a fost la cererea lui Josh si ca tot stresul a dus la infarctul lui James. Trei ani mai tarziu, Josh gaseste motivul perfect pentru a se apropia de Megan; acestia lucreaza impreuna la o campanie de promovare a hotelului Seascape. Acesta ii marturiseste ca inca are sentimente puternice pentru ea si ca este sigur ca la un momnet dat, ei vor forma un cuplu si ca are rabdare, mai ales ca momentul mult asteptat nu e atat de departe.
Cateva zile mai tarziu, cei doi merg la inaugurarea hotelului Seascape si au parte de o mini-vacanta. Megan a sperat ca in aceasta calatorie se va razbuna pe Josh, dar nu face nimic altceva decat sa se indragosteasca de el. Toate intalnirile lor duc la cererea ei in casatorie. Raspunsul se lasa insa foarte asteptat...O neintelegre ii face pe cei doi sa stea la distanta unul de celalalt, dar pana la urma se intalnesc si isi continua discutia...
Este o lectura usoara, se poate citi in cateva ore/ o zi si nu e genul erotic...e o poveste romantica ce are si putine artificii.

BOTW: Nona King - My fair princess

Hello.
This is a special week. Today we welcome Andra in our group :) I think she will review books you'll feel attracted to! 
Now let's move on and hopefully you'll forgive me for not posting last week. I definitely need a tablet.  (Please, Easter Bunny, bring me one...especially that my birthday is on the same time as Easter this year!)
So, because I don't really have time to read from a book, I read on my computer. So if you like this book, you can ask me and I'll give it to you.
It's a romantic fairy-tale. With fairies. The kind with wings :) 

Salutari.
Avem o saptamana speciala pentru ca astazi ii uram bun venit Andrei in grupul nostru :) Cred ca o sa faca recenzii pentru carti pe care sa le adorati.
Hai sa trecem mai departe si sa ma scuzati ca am fost invizibila joia trecuta. Am ajuns la concluzia ca am nevoie de o tableta si sper ca Iepurasul de Paste ma aude si imi aduce una, mai ales ca si ziua mea de nastere cade deodata cu Pastele anul acesta...asa ca no excuses, Iepurasule!
Si pentru ca nu prea am timp sa stau cu o carte in mana, mi-am scos un pdf si il citeam printre gatit, curatenie, munca si orice altceva care nu ma lasa sa stau linistita. :)
Astazi avem o recenzie cu zane. Zane cu aripi...gen Tinker-Bell. :)

So, we have Princess Nia, whose parents arranged her marriage with mayor Shamus O'Neill. She had the impression that the man she had to marry is an old man, but fortunately he's not. The O'Neill she has to wed is a young man, handsome and smart. They met a few days before the wedding and discovered that they have common friends. After the wedding, Nia and Shamus slept in different rooms, not only different beds. Even-though Shay loved his wife, he didn't mean to be rude and force her to anything. The fact that Nia wanted to give it a try and start to love him, proved that she was a good girl...now let's face it...this can happen only in fairy tales. She went everywhere with her husband and tried to help him with everything she could. She even asked one of her friends to help when the water was poisoned and animals stopped drinking it...because somehow, the animals knew the water was poisoned... :|   - fairy tales. She started caring more and more for Shay and by doing simple things with him - like helping him shave or him helping her brush her hair, she started falling for him. In the end, they where happy and in love.
It's true, it's not something that wow's you, but it's a good read if you want to change the scenery. 


Asadar, o avem pe printesa Nia, ai carei parinti i-au aranjat casatoria cu primarul Shamus O'Neill. Din cate isi aducea aminte, acesta era un batranel nu prea simpatic, dar spre fericirea ei - cat se putea, a avut norocul sa fie vorba de un nepot al acestuia, un tanar frumos si destept. S-au intalnit cu cateva zile inainte de nunta si si-au dat seama ca au si cativa prieteni comuni. Timpul a trecut, a trecut si nunta si cei doi s-au mutat impreuna, dar dormeau in paturi si camere separate, pentru ca Shay nu voia sa o forteze pe Nia sa il acceepte in patul ei, chiar daca acesta era indragostit de ea. Printesa a facut tot ce i-a stat in puteri sa se indragosteasca de Shay si i-a reusit ... sincer, povesti cu zane. :| L-a insotit pe sotul ei peste tot si a facut tot posibilul sa il ajute cu ce putea, si-a rugat o prietena sa ii ajute atunci cand si-au dat seama ca un rau din care beau animalele apa a fost otravit. Incet, incet, Nia a inceput sa se indragosteasca de Shay - faptul il ajuta sa se rada dimineata sau ca el ii pieptana parul i-a unit pe cei doi din ce in ce mai mult. Pana la urma, au ajuns sa se iubesca reciproc.
Nu e o lectura care sa te dea pe spate, dar e un fel de poveste care iti aduce aminte de copilarie si de basme. E o poveste de citit cand vrei sa schimbi registrul. :)

BOTW: Jane Costello - The nearly weds / Aproape casatoriti

Ok, last week I was MIA, but now I'm back. This is the book I wanted to talk to you about, but couldn't. So let me tell you what the back of the book says:

"The Nearly-weds

Bride Zoe is left heartbroken when her groom Jason isn't waiting at the altar for her. So she leaves Liverpool for a nannying job in the United States, where she is employed by widower Ryan to look after his two kids, Ruby and Samuel. She soon wins over the children, befriends some other English nannies, including boisterous Trudie, hippie Amber and posh Felicity, but moody and neglectful Ryan is a much harder nut to crack. Will this new life in Boston help her forget Jason? Another charming tale from Costello with the humiliation-prone heroine torn between two commitment-wary men."

Ok, now let me tell you what I imagined...well, it wasn't hard to imagine anything, because I saw - when I was a child, the TV series -  "The Nanny". The main story is almost the same, but with more compressed actions. A woman that was not satisfied with her past-here, Zoe was left at the altar- finds a job as a nanny. The father - the employer, is a widower with a daughter and a son, with no free time for his kids. They fall in love, but Zoe wants to give it another try with her ex-fiance and gets back to Great Britain. She leaves him at the altar, because she realizes that he's not the one for her, that she loves Ryan. She was hoping that her ex-employer will barge in the chapel and surprise her, but he wasn't coming. Later that day, while she was having a drink, he appeared. Why he was not on time or what is the reason he came there? Find out by reading the book...or just guess! :)

Ok, stiu ca m-ati dat disparuta saptamana trecuta, dar am revenit cu review-ul pe care am vrut sa vi-l prezint joia trecuta. Review-ul de pe spatele cartii zice asa:

"Aproape casatoriti

Care este cel mai rău lucru care i se poate întâmpla în ziua nunţii unei mirese drăguţe şi iubitoare? Părăsită de logodnic în faţa altarului, Zoe Moore se simte incapabilă să facă faţă umilinţei şi privirilor compătimitoare ale prietenilor şi familiei şi se hotărăşte să se mute pentru o vreme în America. Odată ajunsă acolo, tânăra devine bona copiilor unui văduv nesuferit, dificil, dar extrem de atrăgător şi de sexy. ?n timp ce le câştigă pas cu pas inima copiilor, Zoe se simte din ce în ce mai frustrată de atitudinea tatălui lor, Ryan, pe care îl consideră un nemernic insensibil, dar de care se simte atrasă în mod inevitabil. Slavă Domnului că există micul grup de bone englezoaice, devenite repede prietenele ei, care să-i tempereze disperarea crescândă! Nu stiu daca ati vazut serialul "Dadaca", dar in mare parte despre asta e vorba in carte. Despre o femeie care nu e prea multumita de trecutul ei - aici Zoe a fost parasita la altar - si isi gaseste o slujba de dadaca. Un tata care e vaduv, are o fetita si un baiat si nu are timp pentru ei. Se indragostesc pana la urma, dar Zoe se hotaraste sa-i mai dea o sansa celui care a parasit-o in momentul care trebuia sa fie cel mai fericit din viata ei si se intoarce in Marea Britanie. Isi paraseste si ea logodnicul la altar, dar nu pentru ca vrea sa ii intoarca "favorul, ci pentru ca isi da seama ca il iubeste pe Ryan. Ea spera ca fostul ei sef sa intre in capela si sa faca asa ca in filme, sa spuna ca el se opune casatoriei celor doi pentru ca o iubeste pana la infinit si ea sa fuga in bratele lui si apoi sa fuga impreuna. Nu. Nu se intampla. Ceva mai incolo in zi, in timp ce e cu prietena ei la un pub, apare Ryan. De ce acum si cu ce motiv? Veti afla daca cititi cartea sau daca va puneti putin mintea la contributie. Ca e simplu. :)

BOTW: Nora Roberts - Hidden Riches / Comori tainuite

This week's book is another book that I've read some time ago...I don't know where my time goes, but I have no time to read. buuuu....

Jed Skimmerhorn is a sad man...he left the house he enharited from his family and moved in an apartment with rent. His tenant, Isadora Conroy is an art collector that has an antique store, with a loving family and a beautiful life. This two have nothing in common, except for the strong attraction between them. The whole trouble started when an employee from the shipping yard switched two shipments and delivered the good to the wrong addresses. Nobody noticed, except for the man that had valuable pieces of art hidden in that shipment: little sculptures inside big sculptures, valuable painting over which they painted something else... Well, the bad guy - Finley - hired a thief - DiCarlo - to get his things back, the most valuable of them. He manages to find the trail to Isadora's shop, but with casualties. After a couple failed attempts to rob Dora - and rape her, at some point, he get's killed by his employer, and Finley's "handy man" - Abel Winsap replaces him. The two men try to rob/torture/kill Isadora, but the fact that Jed is madly in love with her and a cop, makes things tough for them and they fail. Winesap is caught by the police while trying to pay Dora for the painting she had, and Finley was shot by Jed and his partner in Isadora's apartment. The man shot Isadora, but she managed to survive. Almost in every book, we have a love story and a couple that goes through hell for true love. Well, Isadora and Jed are fighting for their love and triyng to get over bad memories. 
Haven't thought that I'll like the book, but I loved it. It's a book full of intrigues, secrets and passion. If you decide to read it, you won't regret doing so.

:) nu am cuvinte sa ma scuz ca am intarziat aproape 11 ore cu recenzia... :)

Jed Skimmerhorn este un barbat trist...isi paraseste casa pe care a mostenit-o de la familia lui si se muta in chirie. Proprietara cladirii in care se muta este Isadora Conroy, o colectionara de opere de arta cu magazin de antichitati, cu o familie iubitoare si o viata frumoasa. Acesti nu au nimic in comun, in afara de atractia pe care o simt unul opentru celalalt. Toate problemele au inceput cand un muncitor de la vama a incurcat doua transporturi si le-a trimis la adrese gresite. Nimeni nu a bagat de seama, cu exceptia barbatului care avea lucrari de valoare ascunse printre opere de doi bani. Barbatu acesta - Finley- angajeaza in hot - DiCarlo- care ar trebui sa recupereze toate obiectele valoroase. Acesta da de urma Isadorei, dar multa lume are de suferit din cauza lui. Dupa cateva tentative esuate de a o jefui pe Isadora si de a o viola, acesta este ucis de Finley, iar locul lui este luat de Abel Winesap, omul de incredere al lui Finley. Acestia doi incearca sa recupereze lucrurile de la Dora, dar faptul ca Jed este indragostit lulea de ea si nu o lasa singura prea mult timp, ii face sa esueze de fiecare data. Winesap este prins in flagrant in momentul in care a incercat sa plateasca pictura Dorei, iar Finley este impuscat in apartamentul acesteia. El a reusit sa o ranesca pe Isadora, dar aceasta supravietuieste. Ca in fiecare carte romantica, avem si aici cuplul de indragostiti care lupta pentru iubirea lor. Isadora si Jed duc o lupta apriga impotriva sentimentelor lor, dar nu reusesc. Ce se intampla cu ei, puteti afla daca cititi cartea...
Nu am crezut ca o sa imi placa aceasta carte, dar am ajuns sa o iubesc. O carte plina de intrigi, secrete si pasiune. Nu o sa regretati daca o sa va apucati sa o cititi.

Ok, Shay's mother organizes a family reunion: she, Shay, John-her new husband and  Ian, John's son, at John's cottage. When Shay gets to the house, she finds a note on the door saying that the two "lovebirds" are shopping and will be back any minute. Upstairs, where she finds a post-it with her name on the door that was supposed to be her bedroom, she heard noises from the bathroom inside the room. Said hello, but because she got no answer, gets into the bathroom. When she realizes that someone is out there, she wants to exit the room, but it's too late. Shay surprises Ian coming out of the shower and can't go away ... so she sits and looks at him. When he sees her, he gets ashamed - and we find out later that it's because he is a priest. Seeing his anger because of what happened, Shay decides to seduce her step brother, not knowing what's his job is. :)

Cand isi da seama ca este cineva acolo, vrea sa iasa, dar e prea tarziu. Il surprinde pe Ian iesind de sub dus si nu mai poate sa plece...asa ca sta si se uita la el. Cand acesta o vede, se rusineaza - si aflam mai tarziu ca e din cauza ca e preot. Vazandu-i revoltarea fata de cele intamplate, Shay se hotaraste sa il seduca pe fratele ei vitreg, nestiind care e meseria lui. :)

Dupa ce esueaza sa-l ispiteasca la cina, afla ca este preot, dar asta nu o impiedica sa il incerce sa il seduca in continuare. Toate astea sa intampla vineri seara. Sambata ies sa joace tenis de camp, iar parintii lor merg din nou la cumparaturi. Shay si Ian raman singuri si se contrazic din orice. La un moment dat, Shay primeste o minge peste fund si o doare atat de tare incat lesina...femeile astea! :) Ian incearca sa ii maseze locul, dar isi da seama ca incepe sa aiba sentimente "necurate" in privinta surorii lui vitrege. Hei, pana la urma, nu sunt rude de sange! Trece si sambata. Duminica, Ian pleaca de dimineata pentru ca trebuie sa fie la munca, iar Shay ramane cu sentimentele rascolite de cele intamplate. Dupa cateva saptamani in care amandoi sufera, Ian o cauta pe Shay la munca si o invita la o cafea, unde stabilesc sa il viziteze pe barbat intr-o duminica si sa participe la slujba. Ei bine, cand a venit momentul, Shay nu stia de ce se simte atat de emotionata. Daca va asteptati la scene fierbinti, luati-va gandul, ca inainte de asta, ei trebuie sa se casatoreasca. Pana la urma, Shay accepta sa devina sotia lui Ian, dar ea crede ca poate fi in continuare firea rebela de pana acum si accepta sa pozeze nud pentru un fotograf celebru. 

Because of that they argue and Shay goes to New York for the shoot, and when she returns the next day, she finds Ian packing because he has to go with the junior basketball team in the tournament. A few days later, there was a fire in town and Shay tried to help everyone as best she could. The next day came and Ian was back, taking his wife's place. After a few weeks, almost everything was back to normal when Shay received a call from her agent, announces that she has been chosen to pose for the famous photographer she posed a few months ago. But she refuses, saying she has other plans, namely to give birth to the child she carries. She does not know, but Ian was behind her and heard the conversation. Din aceasta cauza cei doi se cearta, Shay pleaca la New York pentru sedinta foto, iar cand se intoarce ziua urmatoare, il gaseste pe Ian pleacand impreuna cu echipa de baschet a juniorilor in turneu. Cateva zile mai tarziu, in oraselul lor izbucni un incediu, iar Shay a incercat sa ii ajute pe toti cat de bine a putut. Ziua urmatoare a ajuns si Ian inapoi, preluand sarcinile sotie sale. Dupa cateva saptamani, aproape totul era la normal, cand Shay primi un telefon de la agentul ei care o anunta ca ea a fost aleasa pentru a poza pentru celebrul fotograf pentru care s-a certat cu Ian. Insa aceasta refuza, spunand ca are alte planuri, si anume sa aduca pe lume copilul pe care il poarta in pantece. Ea nu stie insa ca Ian este in spatele ei si aude conversatia. Dar acesta este cat se poate de fericit si incantat de veste. Asta este ceea ce le lipsea sa fie o familie fericita.

Ok, another week, another book. This time is another erotic book, by Maya Banks - Sweet Persuasion.
On the site that sells this book, I found it in a pack - 3 books: Maya Banks - Sweet Surrender, Maya Banks - Sweet Persuasion and Deeana Lee - Sweet Surrender. I made a review for the first one and the last one, now it's time for the second book. I did not plan to write about erotic books, but...it happened. Let's get to the action of the book!

Serena is the owner of a company named Fantasy Incorporated, a company that fulfills everybody's wish. And because she has a wish of her own, she reaches out to Damon Roche, the owner of an exclusive sex-club, a man strong enough to make her do whatever he wants. The thing is...when she tells him about her "clients" fantasy, he does not suspect that the client is her. But when Damon receives an email with the fantasy and at the personal info is Serena's name, he knows that he is the one to fulfill her wish and not only.
They sign a contract for a month and during this period of time she will do whatever Damon wants. Interesting...but things get intense and he makes everything he can to keep her for ever, not only for a month, and to keep her as part of the real life, not just for the sake of her fantasy. All he wishes is to make Serena his spoiled and lovely submissive. Can he?

Ok, am scris aseara rezumatul acestei carti, dar se pare ca azi imi merg toate pe dos si nu mai am draftul... asa ca scriu din nou postarea.

Ok, so last night I wrote the review for this book, saved it and now I can't find it. So, I'm writing again.

Eu as vrea sa mai adaug una-alta, cum altfel? Ce e foarte important de stiut e ca atat Gabriel, cat si Venetia au puteri paranormale. Interesant, nu? Si nici angajarea ei pentru fotografoerea relicvelor si artefactelor nu e o intamplare, pentru ca tatal lui Gabriel stia de abilitatile Venetiei si a fost sigur ca cei doi vor forma un cuplu pana la urma, asa ca...a luat lucrurile in propriile maini si i-a adus pe cei doi la un loc. Bineinteles, cu alt scop, nu acela de a-i cupla. Sneaky man!  :)


I would like to add some more details...what is important to know is that both Gabriel and Venetia have paranormal powers. Interesting, right? An her being hired to photograph the collection is not a pure coincidence, everything happened as the father of Gabriel planed. He knew that they would be a couple in the end :) Sneaky man! 

Cand au facut dragoste pentru prima data, Gabriel si-a dat seama tarziu ca Venetia era virgina si i-a promis ca data viitoare va fi asa cum trebuia sa fie, nu in graba. Ceva mai tarziu, doi hoti incearca sa fure un jurnal cu formula unui elixir care iti amplifica puterile paranormale si cufarul pe care era inscriptionat antidotul pentru acel elixir, fara de care formula te ucidea. Venetia a fost scoasa la timp de acolo, iar Gabriel si-a inscenat moartea. Din fericire sau nu, hotul care a scapat a furat doar jurnalul, lasand in urma cufarul. Dar ziua urmatoare, ziarele scriau ca el a murit. Trist, dar era un rau necesar, pentru ca persoana care a angajat hotii sa incerce sa fure cufarul din nou si Gabriel sa o prinda! Dupa ceva timp, Venetia isi face apariti in societate ca "doamna Jones", vaduva lui Gabriel. Si pentru ca era o tinta sigura, Gabriel "reinvie", spunand ca a scapat cu o amnezie si abia acum si-a adus aminte cine e. He's sneaky, like his dad!

After their first time together, Gabriel realized that she was a virgin and promised her that she would have the perfect time the next time they will make love. A few hours later, two thieves try to steal a chest and the diary with the secret formula, but one of them died so the only thing taken was the diary. The next day, the papers wrote that Mr. Jones is dead and Venetia, as a tribute to their love, took his name, so she became Mrs. Venetia Jones, the widow of Gabriel. Because there was the possibility that the man that hired the thieves go after Venetia, Gabriel decided to return, saying that he escaped death and had amnesia until a few days ago. Sneaky as his dad! 

Acum incepe partea pe care nu o prea pot explica fara sa ma balbai. Un coleg de-al Venetiei, fotograf, a fost angajat sa o spioneze pe aceasta, pentru a gasi cufarul sau cel putin pozele cufarului. Pentru ca nu a reusit, a fost ucis. Se pare ca ucigasul nu e la prima crima, el omorand un batran bogat, pentru a se deghiza ca el si a-i folosi banii pentru investigatii. Dar nu era singur, avea o iubita care a inceput sa o urasca pe Venetia. De ce? Pentru ca iubitul ei a inceput sa se indragosteasca de fotografa. A, am uitat sa mentionez ca si cei doi raufacatori au puteri paranormale...they are strange. OK, pana la urma tipul moare muscat de un sarpe in propriul sau laborator, in timp ce se lupta cu Venetia si Gabriel, iar iubita lui bea elixirul fara antidot, astfel incat, mai tarziu innebuneste si se sinucide. Si cam asta e tot. Dar oricum, am lasat multe scene pe din-afara, ca e foarte complicat de povestit ceva atat de detaliat. Dar va asigur ca daca cititi cartea, o sa intelegeti. Totul e explicat atat de frumos...

And now begins the tough part of the story, the part I cannot say without stuttering. One of Venetia's colleagues, a photographer, was hired to spy on her, to find out if she has the chest of pictures of the chest, because a secret formula was written on the lid. Because he didn't manage to do it, he got murdered. The killer had history in killings, the previous victim of his was an old man. He had a girlfriend that hated Venetia, because the killer liked her and wanted to make a move on her, but Gabriel returned at the same time. So, she gets crazy and kills herself. :) And now, Venetia and Gabriel can live happily ever after. Note that I left many scenes untold, because something this complex cannot be shortened. But if you'll read the book, you'll understand everything.

Dupa cum v-am obisnuit, si Ana are o recenzie saptamana asta. Daca nu ati avut timp sau curaj sau mai stiu eu ce, ea va face un rezumat al trilogiei "Fifty Shades of Grey".

Dar ce nu stiti si e nou, e ca mai avem o impatimita a cartilor, Diana, care ni se alatura incepand de azi. Dar ea are alt stil, ea a scris azi despre un thriller - "Ucenicul".

The last two weeks were book-less fir the blog, because: 1. we had the holidays and 2. because I am upset you don't comment :|
But, I'm stubborn, I have friends who PM/call me to say they loved the book, so I'm not giving up :)
This week I'm going to tell you about Maya Banks's book - Sweet Surrender. Another erotic book. Come on, don't be shy...we all know you are 18+ and like to read something ... different.

Grayson Montgomery is a police officer that investigates the killing of his partner, Alex. He thinks that the man who killed him is Eric Samuels, the boyfriend of Faith's mom, so he plans to get close to the girl and find everything he can about his whereabouts.
Faith is a woman that knows exactly what she wants: a man with initiative, I may say a dominant partner in life, but hadn't had the chance to meet him by now.
Gray gets a job in the same place as Faith, to keep an eye on her, in case that she knows or hears anything about Samuels. When Gray sees her, he noticed the innocent look she has and how pretty she is, and Faith sees him as a dominant and intimidating guy - in a good way. Because he keeps an eye on her permanently, he knows every single move she makes,so he knows about her visit to a sex club. The jealousy made him go after her and "save" her as she was dominated by one of the club's member. There they found out that they are made for each other. The sex was mind-blowing for both of them and at one point, Micah, a friend of both, gets involved in a three-some. More than half of the book is a description of their love making, because it's not the tough/rough kind of sex you might expect form a dominant partner and a slave. They have feelings for each other and make compromises for that. Later, we find that Samuels found Faith and Gray on their vacation, killed Alex's father and shot Gray. The women was not as hurt as she might have been because she found out that Gray got close to her for the wrong reasons, but because she was affraid that what they had was not real.

Ok, I see that you have no intention of leaving me a comment for my book reviews...after finishing my last book ( Danielle Steel - Johnny Angel), I started another book. But because I had a busy schedule, haven't finished it. So I'm writing about a book read a long time ago. It's Deeana Lee - Sweet Surrender.
It's still romance, but erotic romance.
Ok, vad ca nu aveti nici cea mai mica intetie sa imi lasati un comentariu pentru review-urile de carte...dupa ce am terminat ultima carte ( Danielle Steel - Johnny Angel), am inceput o alta. Dar pentru ca am avut un program foarte incarcat si am cazut lata in pat in fiecare seara, nu am terminat-o, asa ca va voi scrie despre o carte pe care am citit-o acum aproape un an. Deeana Lee - Placeri interzise. Carte romanatica, dar erotica in acelasi timp. 

Lauren is an artist, she paints...naked male body's and she moves to Boston for a clean start in her professional and personal life. Since she left her town, Lauren had the feeling that someone is following her and soon a thief got inside the hotel room and search through her things. Connor, a sexy man, former military and secret agent, was hired to be her bodyguard. From the first time he saw her, Connor felt some sort of an attraction to her. The house, that the art gallery in Boston, provided for Lauren was hit by thieves. Apparently, in the basement is a safe room, in which the former artist that stayed there hid a very expensive piece of art. From the first robbery 'til the end, there will be casualties, dead bodies, blood and running. But Lauren feels safe in the arms of Connor, the man that is her bodyguard and lover, all together. Believe me, that the hot scenes will make you want to read it again, just to be sure that you read it right. :)
I don't want to reveal the sex scenes, because I might make them boring, so now you'll have to read the book if you are curios.
Lauren este o artista care picteaza...trupuri masculine goale si care se muta in boston pentru ca a fost angajata de o galerie de arta sa isi expuna operele si pentru ca avea nevoie de un inceput nou si in viata personala. De cand a plecat din vechiul oras, Lauren simtea ca este urmarita. Ajunsa la un hotel in Boston, pana cand casa in care urma sa stea era amenajata, tanara a fost jefuita. Galeria de arta l-a angajat pe Connor sa ii fie bodyguard - un fost agent secret si militar. de cand a vazut-o, lui Connor i s-au cam aprins calcaiele dupa ea, desi nu voia sa recunoasca. Dupa ce s-a mutat in casa pe care i-a oferit-o galeria, Lauren a fost iar jefuita. La finalul cartii aflam ca in acea casa, in subsol, a fost ascunsa o opera foarte valoroasa si veche, pentru care hotul a facut orice, pana si crima. Nu te atrage in mod special investigatia pe care o fac politistii, ci felul in care Connor si Lauren se joaca de-a soarecele si pisica. De multe ori, reciteam unele paragrafe sa ma asigur ca ceea ce citeam, chiar era scris, pentru ca te poate soca putin vocabularul. :) 
Nu vreau sa va descriu scenele de sex - pentru ca amor/dragoste nu pot sa-i spun ca nu este, asa ca va las pe voi sa cititi cartea sa vedeti cu ochii vostri.

Another Thursday, another book.
O alta zi de Joi, o alta carte a saptamanii.

Johnny is a young athlete, in his senior year, a boy that managed to split his time between his family, practice, school and his girlfriend and her family. The prom is here and the party was beautiful, but the road home is not as pretty as it should be. Johnny's car is involved in a car crash and he's the only one that dies. Baiatul stie ca poate sta doar pana isi termina de lasat lucrurile in ordine, chiar daca nu stie inca despre ce e vorba. De la reintoarcea lui, a facut adevarate minuni: a ajutat-o pe Becky sa treaca peste moartea lui si sa se indragosteasca din nou, o ajuta pe mama ei sa se indragosteasca si sa se casatoreasca, il ajuta pe fratele lui mai mic sa vorbesca din nou si il face pe Jim sa se apropie de Charlotte.

On the first Christmas night, Alice and Johnny realize that their time together is up and say goodbye in tears. But not before the boy gives his mom a small box and say to open it only after he's gone. The present was a gift that nobody was expecting, but was received with open heart!
In prima seara de Craciun, Alice si Johnny simteau ca e vremea sa isi ia ramas bun. dar inainte sa plece, baiatul ii da mamei sale un cadou si o roaga sa il deschida numai dupa ce el pleaca. Putin mai tarziu, Alice deschide cutia si vede cadou la care nimeni nu se astepta, dar care a fost primit cu bucurie.

Note: I shed some tears in the end! This is a story full of emotions that gave me lots of goose bumps! I left out a lot of details, so find this book and read it! It's worth the time.
Nota: Am plans putin la sfarsit! E o poveste foarte emotionanta care mi-a facut pielea gaina. Sa stiti ca am lasat pe dinafara o multime de detalii, asa ca va trebui sa luati cartea sa o cititi!

BOTW: Fern Michaels &Cathy Lamb - Holiday Magic/ O dorinta de Craciun

I always loved reading if it was not mandatory. When I was in school, I hated being told what to read, many times I read what others had to say about a book than actually reading it. :) bad girl, I know.
My go to category is romance, but I also like reading chick-lit and crime and mystery. I wrote at the beginning of my blog about two books, The Nearly-Weds by Jane Costello and Poor Little Bitch Girl by Jackie Collins.

Intotdeuna mi-a placut sa citesc, mai ales cartile pe care nu trebuia sa le citesc. In timpul scolii, preferam sa citecs rezumatele cartilor pe care trebuia sa le citesc, pentru ca nu imi place sa mi se spuna ce sa citesc. Sunt o fata rea, stiu.
Imi plac romanele de dragoste, chick-lit si crima si mister. La inceputul blogului am scris despre doua din cartile pe care le-am citit la momentul respectiv, Aproape casatoriti de Jane Costello si Celebritate de Jackie Collins.

Yesterday, I talked with a friend of mine about starting a project for our blogs. A new category called Book of the Week :) and today is the premiere. We decided to write our own summary about our latest read books...romance books. This past week I read Fern Michaels & Cathy Lamb - Holiday Magic. 
The book is actually two short stories about Christmas magic and what can happen around this holiday.

Ieri vorbeam cu o prietena despre carti si ne-am hotarat sa incepem un proiect nou pe blogurile noastre. In fiecare saptamana vom scrie despre ultima carte pe care am citit-o si se va numi Book of the Week sau Cartea Saptamanii. Azi e premiera! O sa scriem rezumatul nostru pentru ultima carte citita...de cele mai multe ori, va fi vorba de romane de dragoste. In saptamana ce a trecut am citit o carte frumoasa cu doua povesti de dragoste minunate, iar actiunea se intampla in jurul Craciunului. Cartea se numeste O dorinta de Craciun si este scrisa de Fern Michaels si Cathy Lamb. De fapt sunt doua povesti separate, fiecare scrisa de un autor si puse in aceasi coperta.

Part 1 - Holiday Magic by Fern Michaels  

Stephanie, a single mom of two lovely girls-Ashley 10 years old and Amanda 7 years old, divorced her husband because of the abused caused by alcohol, works in a shop that sells ski equipment. After divorcing her husband, she had to stay in a shelter for abused victims with her daughters until she could afford rent. She found a small apartment through a dear friend of hers, Melanie, who was the girls babysitter, as well. Her biggest dream is to buy a house with three bedrooms for her family, but things won't always go as planned. Her boss, Patrick, asked Stephanie out a few times, but when he started having feelings for her, he chickened out. A few years ago, his niece died because of a stupid accident and since then he was afraid of committing because anytime can happen something bad. He was not going to get committed in a relationship.

But everything starts to change the day that Stephanie's daughters get lost on the ski slope near the shop. Everybody was looking for the girls, including Stephanie, Melanie, the police and the mountain rescuers, but the one that found them was Patrick. The same day, there was the ceremony of the Christmas tree in their town and the girls wanted to see the lights turning on the tree. Of course, when Stephanie and her daughters arrived, Patrick was there and he helped them see the light from higher ground, with the help of a crane. Earlier that day, Stephanie and Patrick got in fight because she closed the shop earlier to take the girls back home and Patrick let her stay home for a hole month without a paycheck. This meant that she couldn't get the load from the bank and she can't buy the house anymore. 

On Christmas Eve, she has Patrick by her side and the deed of the house in her hand. Secret Santa you might say...or Christmas Magic. Find out the details I left out, it would take about two hours to read this part :) A bed-time story for happy dreams!

Stephanie este mama singura pentru 2 fete - Ashley de 10 ani si Amanda de 7 ani, divortata pentru ca sotul ei o batea de fiecare data cand se imbata, vanzatoare la un magazin cu echipamente de ski intr-un complex turistic. Dupa divort, a fost nevoita sa stea intr-un adapost pentru femeile abuzate cu fetele ei, dar mai incolo si-a gasit un apartament de inchiriat pentru ea si fetele ei cu ajutorul unei bune prietene, Melanie, care era si bona fetelor.Visul ei cel mai mare era sa cumpere o casa cu trei dormitoare pentru familia ei, dar lucrurile nu merg mereu cum ar trebui. Stephanie si seful ei, Patrick au iesit de cateva ori impreuna, dar de la un moment dat, acesta s-a distantat de ea. In urma cu ceva timp, nepoata lui a murit intr-un accident stupid si de atunci el s-a hotarat sa nu se mai implice in relatii pentru ca nu vrea sa sufere din cauza unui accdient. Dar lucrurile incep sa se schimbe cand fetele lui Stephanie se pierd pe partia de ski de langa complex si el este cel care le gaseste pe poznase. Pentru ca erau ude si obosite, Stephanie inchide magazinul si vrea sa le duca pe fete acasa, dar Patrick o anunta ca poate sta o luna acasa, in concediu fara salar.Mai tarziu, in aceasi zi, and fetele vor sa vada aprindere luminilor pe pomul de Craciun din oras, Patrick este cel care le urca intr-o cabina de macara si le ofera o priveliste minunata a pomului de Craciun, crezand ca poate sa isi ceara scuze de la Stephanie, dar aceasta nu il prea baga in seama. Faptul ca ea a ramas somera o luna, insemna ca isi poate pierde imprumutul de la banca si nu isi va putea achita avansul pentru casa mult visata. Dar Ajunul Craciunului o prinde in compania lui Patrick si Mos Craciun ii face cadou actul de proprietate al casei pe care si-o dorea. Cine e Mosul? Nu va pot spune...cititi cartea. ;)

Part 2 - A merry Christmas by Cathy Lamb

Meredith is a very busy woman, she is raising her sisters kids, whom she abandoned a few years ago - Sarah - a rebel young lady and Jacob - a very shy boy. She left her work in New York and moved Montana where she started a business in tourism, running a bed&breakfast. Everybody in town knows her because she wears colorful cowboy hats and is a tomboy. One day, while she was drinking a coffee, a man hits on her. Annoyed, she starts to argue with him, but a muscle man enters the cafe and takes her side, even though she doesn't want him to. Logan is a charming man, who feels attracted to Meredith, and the felling is mutual. A few years ago, Meredith had a terrible accident and she thinks she will never be able to get involved with a men. Why? You must read the book to find out why. The two of them have so many things in common, it's crazy. But she decides to end the relationship even before it starts. Because Logan is stubborn, he doesn't give up. He gets involved in the show Meredith is organizing for Christmas at the theater, just to be around her and prove he has feeling for her. Because Meredith insists not to get involved, Logan leaves town. Each of them try to get over, but they can't. Eventually, the Christmas spirit makes a miracle and she tells him what her problem is...and he already knew about it. How? It's in the book. Anyway, everything is fine in the end.

Meredith este o femeie foarte ocupata, creste copii pe care sora ei i-a abandonat acum cativa ani - Sarah, o domnisoara rebela si Jacob, un baiat tare timid. Si-a last viata si job-ul din New York si s-a stabilit in Montana unde si-a deschis o pesiune bed&breakfast. Toata lumea in oras o stie pentru ca poarta cele mai colorate palarii de cowboy si este baietoasa. Intr-una din zile, in timp ce isi lua cafeaua, un turist s-a dat la ea destul de insistent, dar Meredith a stiut sa-i tina piept... pana cand ii sare in ajutor Logan, un barbat musculos si atragator, caruia ii place de ea. Si sentimentul este mutual, dar ea nu recunoaste, pentru ca in urma cu multi ani a avut un accident in ura caruia si-a pierdut increderea in sine si in frumusetea ei si nu a mai avut o relatie de atunci. Ce s-a intamplat in accident veti afla in carte. Cei doi au atat de multe in comun, incat te intrebi de ce Meredith pune capat relatie inainte ca ea sa inceapa. Pentru ca Logan este destul de incapatanat sa ii arate ca nu doreste doar o aventura, se implica in spectacolul de Craciun pe care Meredith ii pregateste la teatrul din oras. Pentru ca ea tot insista sa nu se implice, Logan pleaca din oras, cei doi incerca sa treaca peste sentimente lor, dar nu reusesc. Pana la urma, spiritul Craciunului face o minune si ea ii spune problema ea....problema pe care el o stia. De unde? Scrie in carte. Ideea e ca totul e bine cand se termina cu bine.
